Cutting Straight Hairs
When we talk about the cutting of straight hairs, we need to be a bit stylish on the way we are getting our hairs cut. Simple styles are best for home hair cuts. The easiest cut will be one length everywhere. Decide on an overall length and then grab your ruler.
Working in small sections, comb your hair straight out from your scalp and hold a section smoothly between your index and middle fingers. Measure to the desired length and carefully snip off the excess.
Continue in this manner until you have cut all of your hair. This method works equally well for both men and women. The length of the chosen cut can vary from quite short to shoulder length and beyond.
How To Cut Hair - Bangs and End Trim - Hair
A straight, blunt cut to the length you decide is best. A body wave will create movement and curlers will help add height.
Comb all of the long hair – the hair that you do not want to cut – back and clip it out of the way. We do this to avoid cutting hair that is not meant to be part of the bangs. Cutting a few long hairs, by accident, each time you trim bangs, can eventually result in more bangs than you want.
How To Cut Straight Hairs?
Hair that is uniform length all the way around is a straight forward hair trim. Snipping the same amount off your ends in small sections is the key. When you're finished trimming, comb or brush to your usual style and check the back with a hand mirror. Don't try to trim too much length at once. Holding shorter lengths for cutting (1/4-inch) keeps the hairs firmly in place as you cut.
Selecting and Creating Bangs in Straight Hairs
- Divide the bang area into two or three sections. You will cut each section separately. Judge the amount of hair in each section on whether you can see through it. It must be that thin.
- There are various hair-cutting techniques that vary depending on the hair types and the desired hair-styles. Wet cutting is the most popular cutting technique in the industry because wet hairs are easily manageable. The only disadvantage of wet cutting is that the look changes after drying. Dry cutting is a perfect technique for straight hairs. This determines the actual look of the hair cut. Another technique is wet into dry cutting. In this technique wetting is done followed by dry detailing. Dry detailing is most commonly referred as blow dry.
- One word of caution--keep it simple. If you are inexperienced at cutting your own hair and looking for a complicated style with many angles or layers, you will probably need to enlist the help of a friend to be sure that your haircut is even in areas that are difficult for you to reach.
- Ensure that the hair is straight & that you hold it tautly with your fingers close to the scalp.
- Snip along the line of hair to keep it straight.
- Lastly, check the front to even out the hair-length, snipping as needed.
